Kitchen island installation
A kitchen island adds counter space, storage, and a gathering point that changes how the whole room works. DK Dynamics builds and installs islands that are sized right for the space — not too big to move around, not too small to be useful.
What's Included
Island work ranges from setting a freestanding unit to building a custom island with cabinetry, seating overhang, cooktop cutout, and electrical rough-in for outlets or pendant lighting. We handle the carpentry, coordinate electrical and plumbing if needed, and install the countertop surface.
QuestionsCommon Questions
Can you add an island to an existing kitchen?
Yes, as long as there is adequate clearance. Standard minimum is 42 inches on all sides. We assess the space during the estimate and design the island to work with your layout.
Can an island have a cooktop or sink?
Yes, but both require permits and licensed trade coordination. We handle permit acquisition and work with licensed plumbers and electricians. This adds to the timeline but is very doable.
How long does island installation take?
A freestanding or prefab island can be set in a day. A custom-built island with plumbing or electrical is typically a one-to-two week scope within a larger kitchen project.
